Indian Red Cross Soceity, Jamshedpur, has distributed 23rd month quota of nutritious food packets and multi vitamin tablets to TB patients

The East Singhbhum Branch of Indian Red Cross Soceity, Jamshedpur, has today distributed 23rd month quota of nutritious food packets and multi vitamin tablets to TB patients of the East Singhbhum district, at a simple function organized at the Red Cross Bhawan, Sakchi, Jamshedpur.

This much needed initiative, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister under PM TB Free India campaign,  is indeed proving to be a boon for TB patients in the country.  As the National Headquarter of Indian Red Cross Society has identified East Singhbhum Branch as the nodal agency for distribution of food packets, this Branch of Red Cross Society has so far disbursed 23month quota of nutritious food and multi vitamin tablets.

Mr Balmukund Goel, President, Ram Manohar Lohia Sewa Sansthan and Mrs Purabi Ghosh, a renowned social activist of the city, were present at the function and distributed the food packets.  They were welcomed by Mr Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary, Indian Red Cross Soceity, East Singhbhum Branch.   Speaking on the occasion, Mr Balmukund Goel said that this noble initiative is worth emulation and hoped institutions and likeminded individuals will come forward to assist the Red Cross Society so that its activities are carried out relentlessly.  Mr Bijay Kumar Singh, while welcoming the distinguished guests to the function, informed the gathering that the Red Cross Soceity has vigorously undertaken to prevent and eradicate TB in the district by coming to the aid of the TB patients regularly..  He also said that besides monthly food, dry fruits, edible oil, soya bean, toilet soaps are provided in the food packets. On the occasion, officials from the TB Control Department, Government of Jharkhand, and members and volunteers of Red Cross Society were present and helped in the proceedings.
