World Blood Donor Day 2024 @ Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur)

The East Singhbhum Chapter of Indian Red Cross Society, Jamshedpur, today felicitated organizations of Jamshedpur and its peripheral areas who organized blood donation camps and helped the Jamshedpur Blood Centre to augment continuous supply throughout the year 2023-24, at a simple function held at Red Cross Bhawan, Sakchi, Jamshedpur.

East Singhbhum Branch of Indian Red Cross Society has organized this function to felicitate blood donor organizations and also a blood donation camp to commemorate World Blood Donors Day.  At the blood donation camp, 153 units of blood was collected.  The function was formally inaugurated by Mr Ananya Mittal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner cum President, Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum by lighting the traditional lamp in the presence of many dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ananya Mittal has implored upon the youth to continue the good work of donating blood and he has also lauded the efforts of the Indian Red Cross Society in securing sufficient stocks of blood at the Jamshedpur Blood Bank.  Mr Mittal also hoped that local institutions and likeminded individuals will continue to help the Red Cross Society in its regular activities. 

Earlier, Mr Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum Branch, while welcoming the Deputy Commissioner and other distinguished guests to the occasion, thanked the Deputy Commissioner profusely for his guidance in carrying out the activities of the Red Cross Society.  On the occasion, Mr M K Singhai, General Manager (India), UCIL, Mr Vikas Singh, Vice-President, Red Cross Society, Mr Arun Bakrewal, Chairman, Blood Donation Committee, Red Cross Society, Mrs Nalini Rammurthy, Secretary, Jamshedpur Blood Centre, Mrs Ravin Duggal, Managing Committee Member, Jamshedpur Blood Centre, Mr Balmukund Goel, Vice-President, Indian Red Cross Soceity, Mr Ashok Bhalotia, Patron, Red Cross Society, Mr Bijay Kumar Moonka, President, Chamber of commerce, Mr Pravin Agarwal, President, Marwadi Yuva Manch (Steel City) were present and spoke on the occasion.
